After 12 years of successful running of RUST JEWELLERY LONDON, the founder of the brand Nao launched a new leather label RUST WORKSHOP as an addition to the jewellery range.
RUST WORKSHOP features the traditional and modern British leather craftsmanship.
The items are entirely handmade by small workshops in London or by Nao himself in his garden shed on the Isle of Wight, using vegetable tanned leather.
Vegetable tanned leathers are typically environmentally friendly as they do not use or produce harmful chemicals in the tanning process.
Every leather item has a unique character and gorgeous nutty scent, and most importantly they age beautifully as you use.
The designer Nao was born in Japan in 1980.
He moved to London at the age of 18, and began selling his self-taught handmade jewellery in the Spitalfields Market in Shorditch, East London in 1998.
This evolved to RUST jewellery and the showrooms opened in Tokyo and Yarmouth since.
Now he lives on the Isle of Wight with his wife Artemis who is the co-designer of RUST jewellery as well as the author of the JUNKAHOLIQUE blog.
The life in the British countryside is the main source of his inspiration to the RUST WORKSHOP.
The themes of the leather accessories include cycling, camping, driving, travelling, fishing, sailing and yet more to come.
